Sales Support Specialist

If you are passionate about providing exceptional customer support to our capital & projects sales team, highly organized and thrive in a dynamic environment then we are looking for you to join our team as a Capital Equipment & Projects Sales Support Specialist.

The role will report into the report into the Business Line Manager for Crushing Solutions and support the crushing & screening capital & projects sales teams and be based out our offices in Kempton Park, Johannesburg.

Purpose of the role:

Responsible for providing comprehensive support to the capital equipment teams for crushing and screening solutions in their efforts to sell SRP capital equipment and associated services to customers. The role will be a crucial link between the sales engineers, customers, and other internal departments to ensure a world class customer experience and customer satisfaction.

The job responsibilities:

  • Assisting the sales teams with all aspects of the sales process from initial enquiry to order fulfilment including preparing quotes, proposals and in conjunction with the commercial management department assisting with contracts.
  • Supporting with customer enquiries and resolving issues or concerns in a prompt and professional manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Where required, sourcing of certain local items from existing suppliers to fulfil customer contracts
  • Support with the import/export activities in relation to capital equipment for sales done in and from South Africa
  • Projects/Contracts commercial support through the raising of milestone invoices/proformas and coordinating with customers to enable the necessary documentation to enable payment under the contracts
  • Master Data – nominated person to be trained in MDG to ensure items and assets can be loaded in the MDG/Aurora/CRM system once new EQ is sold to a customer
  • Sales tools key user for the EQ pricing
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels for capital equipment only.
  • Providing the necessary support and engagements with Sandvik Customer Financing should sales be done on a customer financing arrangement and coordinating between the various departments
  • New Customer Account creation – facilitating and supporting the process, liaising with the relevant departments to ensure the timeous creation of new customer accounts for sales
  • The primary contact person for sales related information and supporting documentation in the case of audits or any other enquiries from other departments in relation to capital equipment sales
  • Identifying sales/sales support process optimization ideas/projects
  • Perform various administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and any other assigned sales support related tasks

CRM Key User

  • This role will be the Sales Area CRM Key User
  • Responsible for ensuring EQ sales teams have the necessary training and support to ensure opportunity management in the Salesforce CRM.
  • Required to attend and engage with the Global CRM Key User network to be up to date and communicate to the sales area the latest updates and changes etc.
  • Driving & follow up with users on adoption and communicate system metrics to management & promote the use of CRM and flag issues – eg overdue opportunities, CRM use/log ins etc

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree or Diploma will be advantageous (business or commercial qualification)
  • At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in a sales or customer service environment
  • CRM – Salesforce experience will be highly advantageous.
  • Financial system understanding and business development experience.

  • Excellent time management
  • Commercial understanding
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision as well as collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • High proficiency in MS Office
