Sandvik Mining Rock Tools provides comprehensive mining, excavation, rock processing, and metal-cutting solutions through innovation, digitalization, and sustainable engineering. This Technical Specialist, Rock tools will be onsite at NGM, based out of our Elko, NV facility
Key Responsibilities:
The technical support specialist offers support Sandvik Service Contract with NGM Goldstrike. When customer support is required, this is the front line for service contracts, performing failure analysis, delivery of parts, and eventually performing trials of equipment at the customer site. The area of specialty is the underground drill rigs at site.
- Align with stakeholders mining schedule
- Attend morning lineout and safety meetings with site management
- Daily stock take of Sandvik laydown and delivery vehicle
- Deliver and retrieval of tooling to underground drill rigs on site
- Failure analysis and logging in and out of tooling through Track app
- Laydown housekeeping and vehicle upkeep
- Manage tooling deliveries to laydown from Elko warehouse
Technical Expertise
- Provides technical training to the service network on proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting practices
- Provides technical support to end users, operators, and service personnel in cases of complex technical issues
- Provides relevant feedback to factories to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation
- Provides assistance in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and rock tool improvements
- Investigates warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to the respective factories
- Assists factories with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation
- Performs rock tool demonstrations in a safe manner
- Assists in the training of distributors
Customer Service
- Provide on-site technical assistance to resolve issues
- Assists customers with parts interpretations and recommended stock holdings
- Develop customer relationships to ensure customers have a positive experience and remain loyal to the Sandvik brand
Minimum Qualifications:
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds
- Capable of pulling drill rods from overhead rack to drill rig
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid drivers license in good standing
Preferred qualifications:
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- 1-5 years mining/construction experience
- Underground experience
Location: Elko, NV area, NGM mine site
Travel Requirements / shift / hours: 4/5 12 hour shifts, overtime eligible
Compensation Range: $30.00 to $36.00/hour depending on experience
Work authorization
Must have the legal right to work in the United States on an indefinite basis without employer sponsorship.
