Technical Specialist Mechatronic

Job Summary

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Technical Specialist Mechatronic based in Balikpapan.

As a part of Indonesia strategic execution plan for mechatronic development, this position will be focusing on important customer assignments to perform systematic fault finding and providing prompt, correct and safe solutions, works closely with customers, using a specialist understanding of their needs to act as a trusted advisor and determine the appropriate solution and reports important product cases into the EQ Division systems. This position can works unsupervised in workshop and/or at the customer site/field.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use deep knowledge of the tasks, tools, and procedures in providing technical support to the customers.

  • Perform adjustments and fine tuning of systems for customer equipment.

  • Commissioning new products.

  • Root Cause Analysis/Trouble Shooting (Including 1st line support).

  • Function as first line support for helpdesk issues & technical support in Sales Area.

  • Collect technical feedback and provide feedback to Product Masters/EQ Division Product line.

  • Ensure technical information and knowledge sharing between Equipment division and Sales Area together/aligned with Product Masters.

  • Organize corrective action campaigns and follow up the completion in Sales Area.

  • Coach, Mentor, Trainer (incl. knowledge transfer between factory and Sales Area).

  • Run new product training/coaching courses for colleagues.

  • Source and join technical training courses and assessments of Divisions.

  • Follow the necessary Take 5 and risk assessment procedures

  • Occasionally collect technical feedback in the Sales Area (input into Database).

  • Assign simple tasks to junior staff and guide them in their completion.

  • Coach customer technicians on basic servicing and maintenance principles.

  • Ensure that all routine work procedures (using the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.

  • Ensure the work area is kept clean and tidy and that tools and equipment are stored appropriately.

  • Commissioning of products (10% of the time spent), which includes pre-delivery inspections and hot (operational and at customer site) commissioning.

COLLABORATION WITH OTHER BUSINESS LINE

  • Collaborate within the Sales Area (including territories/countries etc.) with supervisors, senior field service technicians, and peers.

  • Can be nominated for parts & service division training if identified as a high potential.

  • Give feedback based on challenges experienced in the field.

  • Participate in local equipment division training and comply with the requirements of a Sandvik Maintenance Technician.

  • Awareness of new product launches.

  • Understand how business or related KPIs impact their operational efficiency.

PREFERRED ENVIRONMENT & MOBILITY

  • Assigned on one site or from site to site within country of Indonesia.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • > 6 years’ experience as service technician preferably in underground mining.

  • Has proficient experience and proven advanced skills of Sandvik Equipment.

  • Intermediate English proficiency CEFR min B1 (verbal & written), along with high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
