Maintenance Manager

The Role: Maintenance Manager

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency, we are looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance activities across the operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all maintenance work to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and availability while minimizing downtime. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and experience in managing maintenance teams in a similar environment.

Key Performance Areas:

Lead and manage all maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment and facilities.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Plan, schedule, and monitor maintenance activities to ensure work is completed on time.
Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance teams to ensure high performance and skills development.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements at all times.
Manage maintenance budgets and control costs while maintaining service quality.
Oversee procurement and inventory of spare parts and maintenance materials.
Work closely with mining, production, and other departments to optimize maintenance processes.
Monitor maintenance performance using KPIs and implement improvements where needed.
Use CMMS systems to plan, track, and record maintenance activities.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and ensure quick recovery to reduce impact on operations.
Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and practices.
Ensuring customer expectations are met through effective maintenance support.

Job Qualifications and Key Skills:

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or related field.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in maintenance management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
Experience working with Trackless Mobile Machinery in a heavy mining or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, including preventative and predictive maintenance.
Experience using CMMS systems.
Good leadership and people management skills.
Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Good communication and team building skills.
