About the Opportunity
The Service Contract Specialist is a key Sandvik representative for the implementation and commercial management of service contracts within the region. The role works closely with site-based service personnel, the planning and reliability teams, commercial team and customers to ensure contracts are managed in line with agreed terms and conditions, deliverables, KPIs, value delivery, reporting requirements and continuous improvement commitments. It spans the full contract lifecycle and combines commercial ownership with practical operational support. In doing so, the role underpins safe, reliable and consistent service delivery for customers across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, and protects both contract compliance and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of service contracts, ensuring successful delivery against agreed scope, timelines and KPIs.
- Coordinate contract mobilisation, implementation, reviews and close-out activities.
- Monitor contract performance, profitability and compliance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead regular contract review meetings with customers and internal stakeholders, providing clear reporting on performance, risks and commercial outcomes.
- Manage contract variations, rate adjustments and renewals including development of business cases and governance approvals.
- Support tender submissions, contract proposals and contract renewal activities.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation, records and reporting to support compliance and audit requirements.
- Identify and resolve contract issues, escalating risks where required and driving corrective actions.
- Champion safe working practices and ensure all contract activities align with Sandvik's Environment, Health and Safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing contract management processes, systems and best practices across the business.
- Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders to support successful long-term contract outcomes.
About you
A results-driven professional with a strong foundation in contract, project or service management gained through hands-on experience in the mobile mining and construction equipment maintenance sector.
Demonstrated commercial acumen, supported by the ability to balance customer, operational, and commercial priorities, interpret contractual obligations, analyse operational and financial performance, and drive innovation across operations. Recognised for building productive stakeholder relationships, influencing outcomes, resolving issues effectively, and managing competing priorities in complex operational environments.
High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with essential skills in Excel, Outlook, and Teams, and working knowledge of PowerPoint and Power BI for reporting purposes. Qualifications in Project Management, Business, or a related discipline will be highly regarded. Flexibility and willingness to travel as required to support operational and customer needs across the regions.
