Logistic Manager

The role:
To build and lead a high-performing Supply Chain Management organization that delivers predictable service outcomes (OTIF/DIFOT) and high customer satisfaction, while optimizing working capital (CCC, Days in Inventory, OSMI) and ensuring compliant, cost-effective logistics execution across warehousing, transportation, and trade/export-import activities. The role establishes robust governance and operating cadence – case management, performance visualization, and cross-functional review routines – so that supply chain performance is measurable, transparent, continuously improving, and aligned to the needs of both PTFI and internal customers (Workshop/Highland).
Key Responsibilities
1) Safety Culture Partnership & Values-Based Leadership
Partner with EHS to strengthen compliance and disciplined safe behaviors across SCM operations
Walk the talk on Sandvik core values in day-to-day decisions and behaviors, setting expectations and role-modeling the culture across the SCM organization
Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement; ensure leaders at 2nd/3rd layer own and deliver performance
Develop a high-performing team through coaching, clear expectations, performance management, succession planning, and structured capability development
Align with and implement PTFI EHS standards across SCM operations
2) Customer Fulfilment & Order Management
Lead the Customer Order Desk / customer service function based in Lowland as the single source of truth for order status, escalation, and customer experience
Establish and lead an advanced case management system to enable end-to-end visibility, tracking, exception handling, and structured closure for orders and backorders
Ensure disciplined order-to-cash operational governance, including accountability for order intake quality and invoice readiness through cross-functional coordination
Deliver PTFI delivery targets with a comprehensive view across % on-time delivery and total line items delivered, including criticality-based prioritization
Deliver internal customer service excellence for Workshop/Highland and maintain clear fulfilment commitments.
Establish regular Highland engagement routines to review customer experience, constraints, and actions
Utilize existing dashboards and enhance/build improved dashboards if required to strengthen customer experience visibility, OTIF/DIFOT tracking, and backorder governance
Run regular customer satisfaction surveys (PTFI and Workshop/Highland), consolidate feedback, and translate insights into measurable improvement actions with closure follow-up
Customer fulfillment and Customer pricing updates
3) Inventory Planning, Replenishment Governance & Working Capital Excellence
Own inventory strategy and execution governance : ROP parameter discipline, replenishment planning, exception management, and proactive risk mitigation
Maintain and standardize Strategic Stock Request (SSR) methodology and governance
Lead proactive OSMI reduction and Net Working Capital optimization initiatives, protecting Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC) performance and Days in Inventory targets
Establish a parts redistribution approach to proactively manage excess and slow-moving inventory (including stock balancing/redeployment across Sandvik entities where applicable)
Ensure governance for stock management practices to support availability, accuracy, and working capital objectives
Establish demand planning routines (including forecast accuracy measurement and improvement actions)
4) Warehouse Operations Excellence (Inbound/Outbound) & Digital Enablement (e-Barcoding)
Lead warehouse management with robust inbound/outbound process control, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and service reliability
Own stock accuracy outcomes : cycle count discipline, discrepancy investigation, root cause elimination, and transaction integrity
Drive implementation of e-barcoding and supporting process redesign to improve traceability, accuracy, and throughput
Embed lean warehouse principles and measurable productivity improvement
5) Trade Compliance, Export-Import Governance & Transportation Management
Establish strong governance for export-import execution : shipment visibility, proactive exception management, and reliable end-to-end execution
Ensure trade compliance requirements are consistently met (documentation integrity, controls, and audit readiness)
Deliver transportation and freight performance through carrier/forwarder management and routing optimization
Implement freight invoice controls and cost transparency
Manage logistics service providers (3PL/4PL, forwarders, brokers) with clear SLAs, KPIs, and performance reviews
6) Performance Management, Analytics, and Systems (ERP) Governance
Utilize existing performance visualization dashboards and enhance/improve them if needed to strengthen customer experience visibility and enable deeper root cause analysis (RCA)
Run a disciplined performance cadence : daily/weekly/monthly reviews with action tracking and measurable closure
Reduce Excel silos and manual work ; improve ERP transaction discipline, master data quality, and parameter governance
Apply data analytics for root-cause analysis, decision-making, and continuous improvement prioritization
Demonstrate strong understanding of standard cost and cost-to-serve drivers to support cost analysis and improvement programs
7) Sourcing & Procurement (Direct Sourcing)
Lead the direct sourcing/procurement team to ensure timely and compliant supply of parts/materials required to meet customer and operational commitments
Establish disciplined procurement execution governance (PR/PO flow, supplier confirmations, lead time reliability, and exception/escalation handling)
Drive business partner/supplier delivery performance and responsiveness in alignment with service priorities (critical orders, backorders, and expediting needs)
Ensure procurement coordination with relevant stakeholders (Business Lines, Factory/Hub teams, and internal end-users) to align supply capability, priorities, and delivery commitments
8) Cross-Functional Leadership & Business Alignment
Partner with Business Line stakeholders (Parts & Services, Rock Tools, Capital Equipment, etc.) to align priorities and performance transparency
Work with Finance/Controlling on working capital governance, cost transparency, and order-to-cash discipline.
Build an effective interface with Workshop and Strategic Maintenance stakeholders to support operational readiness, lifecycle cost goals, and WIP/turnaround time priorities
Maintain strong engagement with external stakeholders, including customers, to support service alignment, transparency, and continuous improvement
Maintain strong relationships and effective communication with key internal stakeholders, including Factory and Hub teams, to ensure supply continuity, visibility, and aligned execution
Requirements (Qualifications & Experience)
Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related)
Minimum 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in mining industry, OEM of drills/mining equipment, oil & gas, or equivalent heavy industry sectors
Strong end-to-end SCM experience across customer fulfilment/order management, inventory planning/replenishment, warehouse operations, and logistics execution
Demonstrated capability in working capital management (OSMI/CCC/Days in Inventory) and service KPI ownership (OTIF/DIFOT)
Practical experience with ERP governance and data discipline
Exposure to trade compliance/export-import execution and logistics provider management (3PL/4PL/forwarders)
Strong analytical capability ; able to build dashboards, run performance reviews, and drive root-cause action plans
Lean / Six Sigma capability is a strong advantage
Willingness to travel regularly to Highland and work closely with operational stakeholders
Strong leadership and stakeholder influence ; ability to drive change across functions and levels
Customer-centric mindset with structured problem solving and resilience under operational pressure
Execution discipline
Clear communication and governance capability ; can create alignment across diverse internal customers
Strong business acumen including standard cost awareness and cost-to-serve thinking
