Enterprise Account Director
Turn complex customer priorities into long-term strategic partnerships. At Business Area Intelligent Manufacturing, you own and grow a portfolio of named enterprise accounts, build trusted executive-level relationships, and lead value-based solutions that bring together software, industrial metrology, and services across divisions.
About the job
You shape how we engage with strategic customers, moving from product- and division-level transactions to coordinated, multi-year partnerships. With clear accountability for each assigned account, you connect customer priorities with cross-divisional capabilities and create measurable business value. You report to the Strategic Account Director.
Job responsibilities
- Develop strategic account plans covering customer priorities, growth opportunities, key stakeholders, opportunity roadmaps, and risks.
- Build trusted executive relationships, establish sponsorship, and lead regular executive business reviews.
- Identify and lead complex, multi-division opportunities from early engagement through negotiation and closing.
- Create business cases and value propositions focused on outcomes such as productivity, quality, cost, and time to market.
- Orchestrate virtual account teams across sales, presales, services and customer success, ensuring coordinated customer engagement.
- Manage pipelines, forecasts, and account progress while driving customer adoption, renewals, and expansion.
Location
The position is based in the USA and the East Coast, preferably Boston or close to a Sandvik site. The position includes extensive domestic and international travel to customer and Sandvik sites.
Your profile
You’re an accomplished strategic account professional with extensive B2B sales experience and a strong record of developing enterprise customers. A solid understanding of manufacturing and digital manufacturing enables you to connect customer challenges with integrated, value-based solutions.
Your background includes
- Extensive experience in strategic, key or global account management, including complex, multi-year solution sales.
- Proven ability to lead extended sales cycles, engage multiple stakeholders and negotiate enterprise agreements.
- Experience selling software, technology and services to discrete manufacturing industries.
- A university degree in engineering, business administration, or an equivalent field.
- Experience with structured selling methodologies and working in a matrix or multi-divisional organization.
- Fluent written and spoken English, along with proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft 365.
International experience and further education in sales leadership or strategic account management are advantages.
You’re strategic and commercially minded, communicating credibly with executive stakeholders and turning complex information into clear, compelling narratives. You lead through influence rather than formal authority, bringing structure, integrity, and ownership to every engagement while creating alignment across teams with different priorities.
The team
You lead a virtual account team for each assigned customer, bringing together colleagues from sales, presales and solution architecture, services, and customer success. Close collaboration extends across divisional leadership, product management, finance, legal, marketing, sales operations, and partner management.
