We are looking for a an motivated and customer focused individual to join our team as a Customer and Sales Support Specialist for Sandvik Rock Processing.
The Role
Sandvik Botswana invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Customer and Sales Support Specialist. This role is responsible for providing quality and efficient customer service to customers (internal & external) and support sales activities for Sandvik Rock Processing business area in Botswana in Botswana and Namibia.

Key Performance Areas
- Support the customer enquiry-to-payment process, ensuring customer enquiries, quotations, orders and related administrative activities are managed efficiently through to invoicing and payment.
- Manage customer RFQs, ensuring all requests received are acknowledged, coordinated and quoted accurately and within the required turnaround times.
- Process customer orders timeously, ensuring all required information is captured correctly and that orders progress efficiently through the relevant internal processes.
- Respond to customer enquiries relating to technical, commercial, order, delivery and other matters, either resolving them directly or directing the enquiry to the appropriate Sandvik specialist.
- Coordinate pricing with Sandvik intercompany entities, ensuring the required pricing, lead times and commercial information are obtained and communicated to customers and the sales team.
- Liaise with the Customer Service Centre (CSC) to resolve queries relating to pricing, order status, supply, delivery, invoicing and other customer-related matters.
- Support and maintain customer price lists, ensuring that pricing information is accurate, current and available to the relevant customers and sales personnel.
- Support order management and backlog management, including obtaining regular updates on outstanding/back orders, identifying potential delays and communicating relevant information to the sales team and customers.
- Support CRM and opportunity management across the territory by ensuring customer opportunities, activities, quotations and relevant information are captured and kept up to date.
- Monitor customer requirements and follow up on outstanding actions, ensuring that commitments made to customers are tracked through to completion.
- Support the sales team with customer-related administration, reporting, quotations, order follow-ups and other activities required to improve customer responsiveness and sales effectiveness.
- Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, ensuring that customer requirements are clearly communicated and followed through across the organisation.
- Identify recurring customer service or process issues and escalate these to the relevant Manager, contributing to continuous improvement in the customer and sales support process.
- Inventory management for in country stockholding and reviewing customer demand and stock principles to ensure adequate stock coverage for customers and managed in accordance with division/BA NWC targets
Your Profile
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma Engineering/ Business Administration/Management/ Sales & or related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a mining/engineering industry similar role
- Proactiveness

- Must be flexible and self-reliant, self-starter
- Excellent time management and deadline driven
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Strong understanding and compliance with Health and Safety in the workplace
- Ability to function independently and with responsibility without direct supervision
- Follow-through ability to complete tasks & outcomes based
- Computer Literacy – MS Office – highly proficient in Excel.
- Salesforce experience (or other similar CRM system) will be highly beneficial Aurora ERP experience
