Currently, we have an opening for an IT Support Technician. The IT Support Technician is responsible for managing key IT functions within a designated area, including system development, maintenance, and operation of systems. Ensures technology remains current and effective by evaluating existing infrastructure, conducting research, and implementing new procedures and technologies. Also supports the selection, installation, and ongoing maintenance of hardware, software, and related supplies to meet business needs and maintain operational efficiency.

What you will be doing
- Assist in creating and supporting IT plans aligned with departmental goals and objectives.
- Provide support and maintenance for IT infrastructure, including networks, telecommunications, hardware, servers, basic software, and databases.
- Help evaluate and implement new processes and technologies to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Support IT planning activities, including risk identification and lifecycle tracking.
- Assist with managing IT requests, projects, and system or infrastructure enhancements.

- Adherence to the Sandvik Environmental, Health & Safety Policy.
- Attending health and safety related trainings.
- Performing Risk Assessments (“Take Five”) prior to each task.
- Identification and reporting of hazards.
- Working in a safe manner as reasonably practicable.
- Wearing the required PPE assigned for each location.
What you will bring along
- College or university education in Information Technology or a related field.
- 2-5 years of direct IT support or related experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, networking, cybersecurity, and computer hardware.
- Experience with Workday and Dayforce is considered an asset.
- Bilingual in French and English.
