Are you passionate about creating meaningful change and driving positive impact? Sandvik is on the lookout for a purpose-driven Social Performance Lead to champion and scale initiatives that deliver real social value across our operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea. In this influential role, you’ll lead Indigenous engagement, shape and implement our Reconciliation Action Plan, and oversee community engagement and social investment programs. As a key driver of our sustainability strategy, you’ll help embed responsible, ethical, and inclusive practices into our business—strengthening community relationships and ensuring long-term social impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the creation and implementation of Reconciliation Action Plans with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify social investment opportunities and partnerships that create shared value for communities and Sandvik.

  • Build strong relationships with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Māori, and First Nations communities and organisations.
  • Support cultural awareness and capability-building initiatives in collaboration with Learning & Development.
  • Lead internal RAP network groups and embed Indigenous participation in employment, procurement, and operations.
  • Manage and evaluate community programs, grants, sponsorships, and social investment budgets.
  • Work across departments to integrate social impact into business planning and support responsible decision-making.
  • Track and report on social performance and ensure compliance with RAP frameworks, SDGs, and reporting standards.

About you

You are a culturally aware and self-driven professional with a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, protocols, and community priorities across Australia and the Pacific region. With a solid background in social impact, Indigenous engagement, community development, and stakeholder relations, you bring a proven ability to design and deliver meaningful community engagement programs.

You thrive when working independently or remotely, while also valuing teamwork and collaboration. Your communication skills—both written and verbal—are exceptional, enabling you to build trust-based relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Your knowledge of Indigenous-related policies and procedures is well-developed, and you're skilled at translating these into practical guidance for internal and external audiences. With strengths in project management, strategic planning, and influencing others, you hold a relevant qualification in Indigenous Studies, Social Science, Community Development, Sustainability, Public Policy, or a related field. You’re passionate about making a lasting, positive impact through inclusive and respectful engagement.
