About the Opportunity

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Fire Suppression Technician to join our team in Virginia.

Reporting to the Supply and Assembly Supervisor - Fire Suppression, you will undertake a broad range of manufacturing and assembly activities to build fire suppression systems and components. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality products that support customer safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Prepare and complete assembly orders in accordance with work orders.
Assemble and test fire suppression systems and system components.
Pick and pack installation kits to support customer requirements.
Complete and close out work orders within the ERP system.
Monitor and provide feedback on manufacturing inventory levels, particularly for common assemblies.
Safely operate forklifts, vacuum lifting devices and other manual handling equipment.
Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team to achieve customer and operational outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Experience within a manufacturing, assembly or warehouse environment.
Familiarity with modern manufacturing processes.
A current Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
Sound computer skills and confidence using workplace systems.
Good manual dexterity and physical fitness.
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction and achieving team objectives.
The ability to adapt to customer requirements, procedures and safety standards.
