Maintenance Technician-2
JOB PURPOSE
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical and electrical components of equipment at the work site, while also ensuring all work meets defined specifications.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, machinery, systems, and controls.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and identify/repair faulty or damaged parts.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC controls, ladder logic, microprocessors, and various mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and ventilation systems.
- Prepare requisitions for spare parts and manage inventory and related clerical tasks.
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with company standards.
- Provide support during manufacturing plant emergencies and unplanned maintenance needs.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Capable of working from technical drawings or following verbal directions.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical circuit diagrams, wiring schematics, and systems.
- Skilled in interpreting machine alarms to diagnose issues related to programs, machinery, or operator error.
- Must demonstrate strong eye-hand coordination and agility.
- Proficient in operating hoists, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other lifting equipment; must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with industry-specific equipment.
EDUCATION
- Posses minimum of a Technical Certification or Diploma in mechanical or electrical fields from a Technical College or Trade School.
LICENCES & CERTIFICATES
- Must have valid state issued driver’s license
OTHER INFORMATION
- Global travel may be required.
- Schedule will vary according to department needs; overtime work may be requested.
- Employee may be assigned other duties within the area of their competence.
