Accounts Payable Manager – Milton, Brisbane
The role
The Accounts Payable Manager leads and drives the Accounts Payable function for Sandvik businesses in Sales Area Australia, New Zealand and PNG, focusing on workflow efficiency, fraud prevention and strong internal controls. The Accounts Payable Manager creates a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, which supports the Accounts Payable team with clear objectives and enhanced Accounts Payable systems, processes, and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership of the Accounts Payable function, which provides the on-time payment of external and internal suppliers, processing of employee expenses claims according to Sandvik’s Gifts, Entertainment and Travel policy and Limits of Authority.
- Continual review, and enhancement of Accounts Payable systems, processes, and reports, with a strong focus on automation, to ensure team efficiency is optimized, and reports are fit for purpose at both Operational and Managerial levels.
- Collaborate with project teams and provide leadership and facilitation for Accounts Payable on projects related to the Purchase to Pay cycle.
- Payments are made within agreed Terms including Expense Claims.
- Management of Payment Times Reporting obligations, including identification of small business, Responsible Body briefing and lodgement of returns.
- Small business, ABN, NZBN and GST registration status review for all new vendors supported by a periodic review of active vendors.
- Continuous review of fraud prevention and mitigation measures including regular training of AP personnel and other Sandvik employees involved in the Purchase to Pay cycle.
Your Profile
We’re looking for someone with a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance and experience in leading teams. Your background includes experience working within a large Accounts Payable department with broad exposure in local tax requirements, accounting and management principles and accounts payable procedures. Demonstrated experience with tools such as Basware, Zeno, Aurora and SAP S/4 Hana systems would be advantageous.
With your solutions-oriented attitude, you have proven customer service skills and are an excellent communicator to our suppliers. You are naturally analytical and able to manage organisational change when needed. You have a successful history as a problem solver and leading projects with multiple stakeholders.
