The Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Site Accountant will be responsible for ensuring financial compliance and operational support at the site level. This role involves preparing and maintaining accurate budgets, producing monthly management reports with detailed analysis, and collaborating with various business units to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.

Key Performance Areas

Administer customer site service contracts by producing timely, accurate, and insightful periodic and ad hoc financial reports.
Facilitate effective stakeholder engagement, including direct liaison with customers to ensure precise and compliant contract invoices.
Supervise the invoicing of service contracts in alignment with signed agreements and IFRS 15 standards.
Support the Accounts Receivable function by authorizing service invoices promptly and ensuring sufficient proof of delivery to reduce overdue accounts.
Manage work-in-progress (WIP) through validation, invoicing, release of costs, aging analysis, and reconciliation with the trial balance.
Evaluate and approve warranty claims submitted by customers or service departments, ensuring compliance with company and factory policies.
Compile and present periodic financial reports for management, detailing warranty expenses, claim summaries, and profitability metrics.
Monitor repair and return jobs to assess cost efficiency and maintain oversight of the repair process.
Oversee technician timesheet tracking, including weekly reporting and variance analysis.
Ensure accurate issuance and recording of stock consumables against jobs, in accordance with the matching principle.
Generate service reports to analyze contract invoicing, parts utilization, profitability, and recovery performance.
Evaluate and monitor profitability of capital equipment sales
Prepare rolling forecasts (covering six quarters), monthly forecasts, and conduct detailed variance analysis.

Profile Required

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or BICA – fully qualified).
Minimum of three (3) years’ post-qualification experience in a similar finance role.
Experience in management accounting within a mining environment is advantageous.
Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership.
Valid Class B driver’s license.
Willingness to travel as required.
