EHS Specialist

We are searching for an EHS Specialist to join our team in Mining - Assembly Center, Hinjewadi Pune.
The role
Promotes continuous improvement in Environment, Health and Safety to improve performance and/or develop EHS as a business advantage..
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance & Regulation
- Ensure adherence to local, national, and international environmental, health, safety laws ,Pollution control board requirement
- Maintain permits, licenses, and documentation related to EHS compliance.
- Knowledge of ETP and STP operation along with compliance as per pollution control board requirement
- Operation, maintenance, and readiness of fire safety infrastructure within the facility
- Safety Management
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards (e.g., noise, chemical exposure, unsafe practices).
- Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and corrective actions.
- Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization’s environmental, health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities comply with the regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
- Conducting site inspections and training to employees,
- Prepare annual EHS improvement action plan and ensure its implementation
- Conduct site audits and investigations to ensure compliance with government and organization safety and health guidelines, standards and regulations.
- Ensures incidents are investigated in a structured manner
- Promotes safety-conscious work performance and training programs to avoid any unsafe incidences.
- Provides safety performance measures to the management on a monthly basis.
- Determines root cause analyses
- Training & Awareness
- Organize safety mock drills, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees.
- Train employee on safe handling of machinery, chemicals, personal protective equipment (PPE),HIRA ,Aspect Impact ,fire etc
- Environmental Protection
- Monitor waste management, emissions, and effluents to ensure eco-friendly practices.
- Implement initiatives for energy conservation, pollution control, and sustainable manufacturing.
- Health & Well-being
- Oversee occupational health programs, including ergonomics and medical surveillance.
- Ensure availability of first-aid facilities and coordinate with local nearby hospital .
Pollution Control Board Return Requirements
1. Hazardous Waste Returns
- Knowledge of PCB reporting of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) compliance
- Quantity of hazardous waste generated.
- Storage, treatment, and disposal details.
- Waste sent to authorized recyclers or Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs).
- Form 3,Form 4 ,Form 9 ,etc
2. Air & Water Consent Returns
- Knowledge of Consent to Operate (CTO) compliance .
- Reports include:
- Stack emission monitoring results.
- Effluent discharge analysis.
- Records of pollution control equipment maintenance.
3. Plastic Waste Management Returns
- Knowledge of Plastic waste Management compliance
4. Biomedical Waste Returns
- Knowledge of Biomedical waste compliance
5. Online Submission
- Knowledge of SPCBs and CPCB online filing through their portals.
Your profile
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in any engineering & Post Diploma in industrial safety /Advance Diploma in Industrial safety from State technical board /RLI/CLI with a minimum 5-6 years’ experience in EHS function in a manufacturing industry.
