About the job

As Global Category Manager, you lead and govern category work within your area of responsibility. The role focuses on developing and executing category strategies, driving sourcing initiatives, and ensuring implementation, compliance, and value realization across the organization.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead and manage cross-functional category teams at a strategic level

  • Develop, maintain, and govern category strategies within your scope

  • Identify, prepare, and lead strategic sourcing projects end-to-end

  • Negotiate, conclude, and implement supplier contacts

  • Drive strategic supplier management, including contract governance and compliance

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers

Location and flexibility

The position is based in Sandviken (Mossvägen) and offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to work remotely every other week.

Your profile

You bring extensive experience in strategic sourcing and category management and are confident operating in complex, global organizations. With a strong commercial mindset, you identify how to secure maximum value from supplier contracts and drive sustainable sourcing outcomes. Influencing senior stakeholders and navigating diverse perspectives come naturally to you.

We also see that you bring:

  • Proven ability to commercially source solutions by evaluating options, negotiating, closing deals, and managing stakeholder expectations

  • Strong negotiation, contracting, and strategic supplier management capabilities

  • Experience working cross-functionally and engaging confidently with senior stakeholders

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, enabling effective collaboration both locally and globally

  • A relevant academic degree and experience from the manufacturing industry is an advantage

You’re comfortable challenging stakeholders, partners, and suppliers when needed, while remaining adaptable and open to different perspectives. A structured and detail-oriented approach, combined with curiosity and market awareness, enables you to proactively identify and develop sourcing solutions that deliver long term value.
