Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Technical Specialist Load and Haul to join our team.
Position Overview
The role is responsible for the onsite training and development of Sandvik and Client personnel to ensure Sandvik’s Underground Mining equipment (LH410, LH307, LH621 & TH663) meets the Clients’ required performance levels. This role will also assess technical issues with the SMRT equipment and work within our own improvement processes to improve maintenance reliability, availability and reduce operational costs.

Work closely with the national site technicians in the underground workshop & production areas in a mentoring, supervising & hands on role to achieve the following outcomes.
Assess technical issues on the SMRT equipment and work within our own improvement processes to improve maintenance reliability, availability and reduce operational costs
Work with Customers Continuous Improvement Team and attend meetings as required.
Proactively table “smart” solutions for review
Undertake on the job technical training of onsite technicians
Coaching and mentoring of onsite technicians
Fault finding and troubleshooting of equipment issues
Quality Control of maintenance tasks
Identification & Escalation of technical issues to the National Product Support Team.
Assist Project Managers with site training needs analysis, either Operator or Technical
Assist Project Managers with site dissemination of bulletins and alerts for all SMC products
Assist with the development of site-specific JSEA’s and SWI’s
Assist with the co-ordination site technical training
Review maintenance & performance data in conjunction with Principals personnel
Provide input into the development of site-specific maintenance plans
Actively identify equipment reliability issues and conduct failure analysis in conjunction with the principal’s personnel
Provision of Equipment or Component failure reports
Identify, implement and document continuous improvement opportunities
Input into the review of Maintenance Schedules
Conduct workflow reviews
Actively participate and drive the 5S workplace organisation program and sustain standards through regular daily and weekly checks according to set targets
Actively support a Lean business system by looking for continual process improvement
Your profile
In addition to a relevant trade qualification, a superior standard of interpersonal skills and leadership qualities which contribute to teamwork are a minimum requirement
Strong focus on safety and capacity to adhere to all site mandatory “Life Saving Rules”
Provide technical advice and procedure details to service technicians as required.
Highly developed time management and organizational skills
Ability to provide technical advice and procedure detail to service technicians as required
Ability to lead team of technical personnel
Flexible, self-motivated and demonstrated initiative
Excellent interpersonal skills
Report writing skills are desirable
Computer systems literacy is essential
High level of drive and determination to achieve goals and targets set for customer satisfaction
Mandatory Certificate: Lototo, WAH (Working At Heights)
