Remote Monitoring Technician
Sandvik Mining | Location: Milton, Brisbane (Hybrid), however open to other locations across Australia for suitable candidates

About the Opportunity
Due to internal movement, we are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Remote Monitoring Technician to join our Parts & Service team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maximising customer equipment reliability and performance by remotely monitoring machine health data, identifying potential issues before they become failures, and providing actionable recommendations to improve uptime and operational efficiency. Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders, you'll help deliver exceptional service and support across a fleet of advanced mining equipment
Responsibilities include but not limited to
Proactively monitor mining equipment data to identify anomalies, alarms, and performance trends
Analyse telemetry and diagnostic information to detect early signs of component wear, failures, and inefficiencies.
Prioritise and escalate critical equipment alerts to customers and internal stakeholders.
Assist in developing troubleshooting documentation and root cause analysis tools.
Provide professional and timely updates to customers regarding equipment health and recommended actions.
Present customer-focused information on Remote Monitoring Centre functions and software capabilities.
Collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to support maintenance strategies and fleet performance objectives.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards while supporting a Zero Harm culture.
About you
As the ideal candidate you are a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Technician, Diesel Fitter, or similar trade professional, with experience working on mining or heavy mobile equipment. You have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and enjoy using technology and data to solve problems before they become equipment failures.
You bring:
A trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Mobile Plant, Mechanical Fitting, Automotive Electrical, or a related discipline.
At least 2 years' experience within the mining industry (surface or underground).
Strong knowledge of heavy equipment mechanical and electrical systems
Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear technical recommendations to customers and stakeholders.
Experience using digital systems, monitoring platforms, and reporting tools.
A proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
