Position Overview:

The QA Manager / Software Quality Manager leads the quality strategy, governance, and execution for Cimatron’s software portfolio, ensuring robust releases, scalable testing practices, and strong alignment with customer usage and business priorities. The role combines people leadership, modern quality engineering, process discipline, and close collaboration with Product, R&D, Support, and customers to continuously improve product quality and release confidence.

Management line and team: Reports to the Global Product Director and works closely with global Product Management and Development teams across geographies.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

1 - Lead and develop the QA organization

  • Lead and develop the QA team, ensuring the right structure, capabilities, role clarity, and performance management to support business growth.
  • Build a strong quality culture through coaching, mentoring, and capability development.
  • Create a collaborative and accountable organization that combines innovation, operational discipline, and customer focus to improve release confidence and product resilience.

2 - Define and implement the QA strategy

  • Define and evolve a modern QA strategy combining manual, automated, risk-based, and data-driven testing.
  • Ensure alignment between quality priorities, product roadmap, release objectives, and customer expectations.
  • Drive scalable test automation across UI, API, integration, and regression layers, with strong CI/CD integration.
  • Leverage AI and data where it is relevant to improve test design, defect analysis, risk prediction, and quality insights.
  • Apply AI as an enabler within a broader quality system, ensuring that engineering judgment, structured processes, and real customer usage remain central to quality decisions.

3 - Partner with key stakeholders to continuously improve quality

  • Work closely with Product, R&D, DevOps, Support, and technical experts to embed quality early and improve testability.
  • Act as a strategic partner to engineering by contributing to planning, refinement, release readiness, and post-release reviews.
  • Maintain a strong feedback loop with customers, support teams, and field experts to align testing priorities with real usage and critical workflows.
  • Use customer-reported issues, usage patterns, benchmark scenarios, and workflow pain points to continuously refine quality priorities and risk assessments.

4 - Ensure release quality and process discipline

  • Own release quality governance and provide clear recommendations based on evidence, risk, and customer impact.
  • Establish effective quality processes, standards, traceability, and defect management discipline across the lifecycle.
  • Support release quality through clear gates, measurable KPIs, defect prevention actions, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
  • Improve product resilience by identifying recurring quality patterns, reducing escaped defects, and driving sustainable root-cause solutions.

Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in software testing.
  • 3+ years in leadership roles.

  • Release stability indicators, including post-release issue volume and severity.
  • Test cycle efficiency and predictability of QA execution.
  • Customer-reported quality issues and time to containment or resolution.
  • Team capability development, engagement, and key-role readiness.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Domain and business understanding
  • Strong hands-on QA experience in CAD/CAM software, ideally with exposure to tooling, manufacturing workflows, and mold & die environments.
  • Good understanding of customer workflows, business-critical use cases, and quality expectations in complex engineering software environments.
  • Technical and quality engineering expertise
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle, QA methodologies, test strategy, and release governance.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks, continuous testing, CI/CD environments, and automation-first quality practices.
  • Experience with tools such as Selenium, TestComplete, or equivalent technologies, and the ability to scale maintainable automation approaches.
  • Innovation and continuous improvement
  • Exposure to AI-enabled testing tools or quality analytics approaches, with the ability to apply innovation pragmatically.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities through data.
  • Leadership and collaboration
  • Proven experience leading QA teams, developing talent, and driving accountability, collaboration, and performance in a global environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Travel: around 10-15% of the FTE - Willingness to travel for occasional travel for customer visits, product workshops, user conferences, and team alignment activities.
