Sandvik Mining develops and produces products and services for our customers’ drilling, rock reinforcement, hauling, loading and mechanical cutting, as well as mine automation needs, worldwide. Our HR & D Department’s Freeport Site serve underground loaders & trucks, drill, rockbreaker, etc through our competent Service Technician.

As a Sr. Learning & Development Specialist, your main tasks include the following:
The primary focus of this role involves spearheading the Learning and Development lifecycle by aligning training needs with specific organizational and operational requirements. This includes conducting thorough needs analyses to develop annual learning plans that integrate both hard and soft skill modules, with a specialized emphasis on technical materials for heavy equipment and the integration of AI and advanced digital technologies. From classroom facilitation to on-the-job training, the objective is to deliver high-impact programs that strictly adhere to Sandvik standards and safety cultures while continuously evaluating effectiveness to drive measurable performance improvements.
Complementing the technical training focus, the position provides strategic support for broader HR initiatives, particularly in the realms of talent development, leadership growth, and succession planning. By serving as a subject matter expert for HR management and training-related programs, you will offer critical support for special projects and organizational pillars. This dual responsibility ensures that technical competency and leadership maturity are developed in tandem, fostering a robust internal pipeline of skilled professionals ready to meet evolving industrial challenges.
Your profile
We are seeking a Sr. Learning & Development Specialist with a solid technical education and extensive experience in competency development within the mining sector. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert on heavy equipment applications—specifically load and haul, drilling, and crushing machinery—utilizing your deep understanding of engines, electrics, hydraulics, and powertrains. Your expertise will be vital in providing technical support and ensuring that our complex solutions are understood and maintained at the highest operational standards.
Beyond your mechanical proficiency, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of instructional design, from initial curriculum development to the final evaluation of training effectiveness. You are an engaging communicator, fluent in English, who thrives in multi-cultural environments and possesses the interpersonal skills necessary to build confidence in our customers and internal teams alike.
