About The Role:

We are seeking an Operator Trainer –Sandvik Underground Equipment who will assist in driving cost efficiencies and capital profit through good leadership, strong customer relations, and the application of best practices in SHEQ effectiveness. As part of the Training team, this position will be responsible for delivering training to internal and external customers.”

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Delivering OEM classroom, practical, and underground operator training on Sandvik Underground equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with Sandvik SHEQ standards and site-specific safety requirements during all training activities
  • Providing hands-on coaching during live underground operations
  • Identifying performance gaps and implementing corrective coaching actions
  • Maintaining accurate records of training attendance, assessments, and certification
  • Preparing training reports, competency matrices, and recommendations for customers and stakeholders
  • Supporting audits and compliance reviews related to competence and training
  • Managing all customer and stakeholder relationships with respect to underground equipment operations
  • Developing a framework of procedures and providing feedback on training effectiveness, operator performance, and equipment usability
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of training programs and materials, and promoting Sandvik’s business image and related product and service offering
  • Ensuring the personal and career development of subordinates
  • Developing appropriate training, learning, and development programs to ensure that identified business needs are met
  • Maintaining established training facilities and managing curriculum in accordance with Sandvik standards
  • Developing annual training plans in alignment with the business strategy
  • Identifying, engaging, and managing appropriate third-party training providers

Qualification

  • Degree Qualified Engineer or good trade background with relevant equipment, technical, and managerial experience.
  • Trainer assessor course role or five (5) years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong business sense and SHEQ focus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and people management skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and other MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote locations for an extended period is essential.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and provide guidance to members of the team.
  • Strong knowledge of underground drilling processes and equipment operation
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills
  • Ability to communicate in French will be an added advantage
  • Competent in basic reporting and documentation
  • Possess required MINCOM certification
  • Possess a relevant Ghanaian driver’s license C
