Compliance Officer
Job Purpose
The Compliance Officer is part of the global Business Area Compliance Team and is responsible for leading compliance activities across local operations in India and to manage global initiatives, ensuring alignment with Group compliance policies and program, standards, and ethical requirements.
The role plays a key role in integration activities (including newly acquired or recently integrated entities) and serves as the primary interface between local operations and the global compliance organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate compliance and internal controls support for integration activities, including risk identification, gap assessments, and implementation of Group policies and controls.
- Act as the local compliance point of contact for India toward BA and Group compliance teams.
- Drive local implementation of Group compliance policies, frameworks, and initiatives, ensuring effective execution and follow‑up.
- Provide expert, pragmatic compliance advice to local management and key stakeholders.
- Support and implement Group Compliance program initiatives.
- Identify, assess, and escalate compliance risks and issues in line with Group escalation frameworks.
- Support investigations, remediation actions, and compliance reporting as required.
- Oversee or guide third‑party compliance and due‑diligence activities for higher‑risk engagements.
- Lead and support local compliance training and awareness initiatives to promote a strong culture of integrity.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Compliance, Finance, or a related field.
- Typically 6–10+ years of relevant experience in compliance, financial controls, legal, risk, or governance roles, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Proven experience working independently in a matrix organization and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting integration or change initiatives is preferred.
- Seeking candidates with a history of long-term engagement rather than frequent role changes.
