Position Overview:

As a Data & AI Platform Engineer, you are responsible for building a reliable, secure, and observable platform that empowers autonomous teams through self-service capabilities, enabling Data, Analytics and AI Engineers to develop and deploy scalable analytics, agentic automation, and AI products across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture: Design and maintain the platform with reusable templates, components, and patterns.
Autonomous Teams: Work closely with data, AI and analytical engineers as well as champions to improve productivity through platform tooling and self-service capabilities. Contribute to platform architecture, golden paths, documentation, standards, and best practices.
Infrastructure as Code: Manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code.
DevOps & Automation: Implement CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and deployment for data and ML workflows.
Security & Governance: Embed security, compliance, and data governance into the platform with least-privileged principles.
Monitoring, Reliability: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance, reliability, and observability.
Performance & Cost: Set architectural guardrails, optimize workloads, and provide spend transparency.
Data Quality Capability: Enable capabilities for data quality, findability, discoverability, and lateness.

Education Qualification, Experience & Technical Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience in integration, platform, or equivalent software engineering roles as applicable to the vacancies mentioned below under this role, respectively
- 3-5 years of experience – 2 positions
- 6-10 years of experience - 1 position
3+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering roles. Preferably using Azure
Proven experience with Azure and container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
Proven experience with Infrastructure-As-Code. Preferably Bicep.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure deployment.
Proven expertise with Lakehouse service providers. Obligatory Databricks.
Preferably a solid understanding of MLOps.
Strong software engineering skills in Python, SQL, C# or similar languages.
Technical degree in Computer Science or related subject.

This position reports to the Engineering Manager- Data and Analytics. Please note this position will be hired under Sandvik India Innovation Pvt ltd.
