Sandvik Mining | Pinkenba, Brisbane
Job Type: Full time
About the Opportunity
As a senior EHS leader, you will partner closely with the Logistics Leadership Team to embed Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) and bring the Sandvik EHS Management System to life in day-to-day operations. This role is focused on driving practical, value-add safety outcomes through strategic enablement, leadership coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Logistics Leadership Team to strengthen visible safety leadership and drive consistent, safe behaviours across all operations
- Embed Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) practices aligned with Sandvik EHS Leadership Behaviours into day-to-day ways of working
- Coach leaders and managers to lead effective safety conversations, apply risk-based decision making, and role model expected behaviours
- Act as a constructive challenger to unsafe behaviours and ineffective practices, focusing on learning, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Integrate the Sandvik EHS Management System into daily logistics and warehousing operations so safety processes add practical operational value
- Translate EHS requirements into clear, fit-for-purpose processes that support efficient and safe logistics environments
- Drive consistent application of risk management, critical controls, incident management, and contractor management across sites
- Ensure ISO-aligned systems (ISO 45001 and 14001) are embedded, effective, and focused on real outcomes, not just compliance
- Monitor EHS performance trends, maintain strong data quality, and use insights to lead targeted improvement initiatives and investigations
- Act as a trusted EHS advisor, partnering with key stakeholders (including Warehouse Leaders and regional/global EHS teams) to align priorities and deliver continuous improvement
About you
