The role
As a key member of Sandvik’s Sourcing Team, you will play a vital role in strengthening our competitive position by enhancing supply chain value and supporting the Regional Sourcing Team. You will evaluate and negotiate with external suppliers across multiple categories, ensuring optimal procurement decisions aligned with global directives and governance models. Through exposure to procurement policies and performance indicators, you help drive continuous improvement in supplier management and business outcomes. Collaboration is at the heart of this role, as you work closely with peers and stakeholders to achieve impactful results.
Areas of responsibility
- Develop and manage multiple and simultaneous suppliers in the region, ensuring key stakeholders' involvement in the determination of requirements, specifications, selection criteria, review of proposals, negotiations and suppliers’ relationship management.
- Negotiate contracts and provide support to global, regional and local needs in regard to various suppliers.
- Ensure various suppliers' optimal performance in terms of cost, availability, delivery, quality, reliability, etc..
- Ensure various suppliers' adherence to Sandvik policies and procedures (NDA, ABC, Trade Compliance, Contracts, etc.).
- Manage the contract/relationship with various suppliers, leveraging on their capabilities, uncovering and realizing maximum value, and reducing the risk of failure.
- Map our business needs, and collaboratively develop and implement sourcing strategies, way-of-working and relationships towards various suppliers, ensuring procurement decisions support needs of key users and stakeholders.
- Prioritize and ensure that the sourcing tasks are performed in a timely manner.
Your profile
You are a proactive and self-motivated professional with strong analytical skills and a results-driven mindset. With a minimum of five years’ experience in sourcing or supply chain environments, particularly within mechanical components such as engines and hydraulics, you bring expertise in negotiation, strategic sourcing, and supplier account management. Your ability to lead process improvements, build strong stakeholder relationships, and drive value-added solutions makes you an asset to any team.
Holding a degree or equivalent qualification in business, engineering, or supply chain, you are adept at working within complex matrix organizations. You have advanced skills in Excel and data analysis, along with experience in SAP 4 Hana and exposure to developing Power BI reporting. Additionally, you are flexible to travel regionally and globally (~20%), supporting business needs.
