We are looking for a dedicated and results orientated individual to join our team as our Foreman in Screening Media.
The role will report into the Production Manager. The role will be based from our offices in Crown Mines, Johannesburg.
Purpose of the role:
- To effectively supervise screening media operators during the manufacturing of screening media (Injection Moulding and Polyurethane Open Cast products) and related components to complete and meet production deadlines. To monitor progress in line with machine schedules, production orders and resource requirements to meet all company cost, quality and output requirements.
The job responsibilities:
- Polyurethane / Rubber Injection Moulding and Polyurethane Open Cast
- Responsible to assist the production manager to Co-ordinate and manage daily and ongoing screening media manufacturing.
- To be actively involved with production schedules, machine loading and output to complete and meet production deadlines.
- Ensure that all materials are available for jobs that are currently on the floor and planning material for new jobs.
- Responsible to perform quality checks on screening media products and other related parts.
- Provide clear instructions to team members towards deadline dates and allowable hours necessary to meet completion deadlines.
- To participate in making management decisions affecting the work output.
- To ensure best maintenance practices are followed on screening media equipment and machinery and report any unsafe or faulty equipment to production manager.
- To coach and guide operators on job procedures.
- Communicate effectively with your production manager.
- To assist the production manager on all day-to-day activities, resolving of staff problems, to keep employees motivated and working efficiently.
- Maintain discipline in the working area to avoid non-professional activities to be carried in and around the workplace.
- To provide a positive “can do” approach to management, whilst leading the teams by example.
- Ensure that working area is clean and neat and free of safety hazards.
- Ensure all staff abides by H&S requirements including the use of appropriate PPE where and when required.
- Ensuring workers follow safe work practices.
- Enforcing health and safety regulations.
- Correcting unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Conduct continues risk assessments to ensure a safe workshop environment.
- Ensuring that only authorized, adequately trained operators operate the equipment.
- Responsible to operate within the health and safety requirements as prescribed by the Company and OHSAct
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate or N3 Mechanical.
- Qualification from Plastics SA Academy would be beneficial.
- Supervisory or other relevant Training/courses.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a similar field.
- Substantial experience within injection moulding and polyurethane moulding industry.
