The role
This role plays a critical role in delivering technical expertise and support to ensure the optimal use and performance of rotary drilling tools across diverse applications. This position is responsible for supervising tool usage, driving operational efficiency, and providing in-depth application and product knowledge to sales teams. Additionally, the role collaborates closely with R&D by offering valuable insights and feedback on product performance to support continuous improvement and innovation.
Areas of responsibility
- Technical Support: Deliver expert technical assistance and troubleshooting for rotary drilling operations to minimise downtime and ensure operational continuity.
- Training & Development: Design and facilitate training programs for operators and sales personnel to enhance their understanding of the proper use, handling, and maintenance of rotary drilling tools.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, project managers, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving drilling processes and tool performance.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Collect and analyse drilling performance data to identify trends, implement improvements, and drive greater operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Safety & Compliance: Uphold and promote adherence to all relevant safety standards, procedures, and best practices in drilling operations.
- Operational Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of drilling activities, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting efforts to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Commercial Support: Collaborate with the commercial team to assist in product development, offering technical recommendations, customer support, and application insights to drive business success.
Your profile
We’re looking for a highly skilled professional with hands-on experience in rotary drilling applications to join our team. To be successful in this role, you’ll need a minimum of five years' experience in similar functions and hold a university degree in Mining Engineering or a related field. You’ll bring technical expertise in the operation and maintenance of rotary drilling tools, along with the ability to provide consultation, make recommendations, and support product development in collaboration with the commercial team. This position requires regular travel for customer visits, so a valid Class B driver’s licence is essential. Strong communication and presentation skills are also key to succeeding in this role.
