About the opportunity
We are currently seeking a Service Technician to join our Lae Branch, reporting directly to the Workshop Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operational activities and ensuring efficient workshop performance.
Areas of responsibility
- Perform work safely within a team environment, following all site and company safety standards
- Plan and prepare the correct tools and parts required for each task in line with work procedures
- Carry out commissioning activities, including quality inspections and dyno testing
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
- Apply technical knowledge to troubleshoot and solve standard customer problems
- Complete accurate maintenance and service reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Capture and provide technical feedback to support continuous improvement and database updates
- Support and guide junior team members by allocating and overseeing simple tasks
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on EHS compliance
Your profile
- Trade qualification in a mechanical discipline with a minimum of 3 years’ post-trade experience
- Proven experience working across underground and surface/hard rock environments (essential)
- Experience with Sandvik equipment highly regarded
- Strong commitment to EHS, with a clear focus on working safely at all times
- Valid driver’s licence (mandatory)
- Well-developed customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly in line with customer requirements, procedures and safety standards
- Positive attitude with a strong drive to achieve targets and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction
- High attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative
- Comfortable using digital tools, mobile applications and systems
