Production Planner
Sandvik Mining | Production Planner | Location Mt Isa, QLD

About the Opportunity
Working closely with Workshop Supervisors, Technicians, Procurement, Stores, and Customers, you will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing work-in-progress (WIP), controlling workshop backlog, sourcing parts, and ensuring maintenance, repair, overhaul, and rebuild projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage workshop production schedules and resource plans.
Monitor and control Work-in-Progress (WIP) to ensure on-time delivery.
Manage workshop backlog and prioritise work based on customer and operational requirements.
Source and procure parts, materials, and external services to support production activities.
Coordinate with suppliers to manage lead times and expedite critical parts.
Provide regular progress updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Track labour utilisation, job milestones, and workshop performance.
Identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare job variations, quotations, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) as required.
About you
Experience in production planning, maintenance planning, workshop coordination, or scheduling.
Strong understanding of workshop operations, WIP management, and resource planning.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with ERP, CMMS, or workshop management systems.
Industry experience in heavy vehicles, mining, earthmoving, fleet maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial services is highly regarded.
