Product Specialist Crushing- P2

The Role
Responsible for working closely with the Southern Africa sales & service teams to promote crushing products and champion the driving of the Crushing Solutions equipment and aftermarket parts and support sales whilst providing support and technical assistance & services to our customers for our Crushing installed base across Southern Africa.
Key Responsibilities
Customer training and efficient technical services support pertaining to all Sandvik Crushing products supplied to customers within Southern Africa.
Work closely with the Customers’ Installation and Erection Teams on activities during installation and commissioning of any Sandvik Crushing equipment when required.
Guide and assist Customers’ Maintenance Teams with fault diagnosis work on Sandvik Crushing equipment.
Work with Customers’ Maintenance Teams perform repair and fault finding using hydraulic and electric schematics.
Cooperate closely with the sales team or directly with the customer to promote crushing equipment and aftermarket sales and identify replacement equipment opportunities and aftermarket growth opportunities.
Provide relevant feedback through equipment condition, performance and process audits, to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity.
Identifies current and future/potential customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with them and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Provides product service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Works towards achieving set KPI’s, for both the Customers and Sandvik.
Ensure all work assigned to the team, related to Crushing, is carried out in accordance to set budgets and timeframes.
Providing relevant information to Crushing installed base in Southern Africa to the relevant team, managing installed base and to ensure accurate installed base information is maintained in the database.
Accept and perform tasks delegated by the Rock Processing Sales Area Management as deemed necessary.
Support customers and sales area in other Territories (CAFR & WAFR) as required on a case by case or project.
Ensure all Sandvik policies and procedures especially the health, safety and environmental policies are adhered to.

by the team.
Profile Required
Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or good trade relevant background with relevant equipment technical and managerial experience.
Have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the Mining Industry with Crushing experience
Acquired knowledge in Crushing and Screening operations in both surface and underground.
Strong business sense and EHS focus.
Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and people management skills are essential.
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and other MS office applications.
Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary and provide guidance to members of the team.

Other requirements
Have a valid passport, and willing and able to travel, without restrictions, within the Southern African Territory at relatively short notice, and as per customers’ or Sandvik’s requests/requirements.
There might be a need to assist other territories within Africa and therefore willingness to travel to other countries beyond Southern Africa.
