Job profile

As a project lead, you are responsible for leading the design and development of products, components and systems from concept to production. This role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure innovative, cost-effective and high-quality design solutions that meet customer requirements and comply with industry standards. The job is about providing engineering support to mainly Lahti PA within SMRT.

Experience / exposure towards mining/construction or heavy machinery industry data is regarded as a merit.

Good ability to speak and write in English are prerequisites in this job.

The main responsibilities are as follows:

Lead and manage design activities for assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
Oversee 3D modeling, 2D drawings and design documentation using SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
Plan and track design tasks, budgets and timelines.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality).
Develop design concepts, perform engineering calculations and validate designs
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards and safety regulations.
Participate in design reviews, safety assessment and customer discussions.
Support vendor development and resolve design change requests
Be innovative, research new technologies and materials to improve product performance
Good in designing fabricated structural weldment including bolts

Your profile

You have a university degree in Mechanical engineering / master’s in mechanical engineering or another relevant field (or equivalent) and between 9-11 years of design experience. You have a solid track record of validating the designing, simplifying the design and reducing the cost of manufacturing and at times do the needed engineering calculations.

Strong leadership and project management abilities.
At least 7 years of experience in Solidworks tool
Experience in AutoCAD for drafting works
Good experience in Teamcenter
Experience in UG-Nx is an added advantage
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with a proactive approach.
Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
