Sourcing Engineer - Commercial Components

SMRT(i)PL, we have SRP as a business area, which is a leading supplier in equipment, services, support and technical solutions for construction and mining industry and specialist in Crushing, Screening, Mobile plants, and attachments
We are looking for a dynamic and an energetic Sourcing Engineer - Commercial Components for SRP. This role reports to the Category Manager - Commercial Components. This position will be based in Pune.
Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage sourcing new suppliers to support any defined sourcing projects (NPI, NPD, export, etc.)
  • Responsible implementing local category strategies across Regional Sourcing Office (RSO).
  • Responsible for achieving performance targets set by RSO Category Sourcing Manager by leveraging total cost of ownership levers, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the organization, and cooperating will all key stakeholders within category team, RSO
  • Responsible for adherence to internal and external policies, regulations and laws
  • Responsible for suppliers’ compliance on Sandvik policies and guidelines including EHS, Supplier Code of Conduct etc.
  • Build up and maintain strategic and long-term cooperation, relationship with key suppliers.
  • Together with Clusters/Categories/Supplier KAM lead supplier annual contract review and negotiation to minimize total cost of ownership and to meet set targets and KPIs (cost, quality and delivery)
  • Manage RSO compliance with, and use of, global and local contracts within category
  • Lead annual productivity improvements with suppliers pursuing cost reduction opportunities in alignment with the sourcing strategy (e.g. lowering inventory levels, increasing yields, improving supplier operations, etc.).
  • Secure supplier quality performance analysis, report and provide feedback on findings, and be actively involved in supplier performance evaluation
  • Lead and work closely with Supplier Quality and PDC team on new supplier qualification
  • Monitor supply markets, interpret market intelligence and develop supplier profiles for key commodities.
  • Manage implementation of savings projects to optimize total cost of ownership from supplier
  • Identify and manage implementation of category savings projects globally to optimize total cost of ownership for category
  • Work according to processes, leveraging systems and tools
  • Collaborate with PAs and Global Category Managers to ensure sharing and implementation of best practices, execution of continuous improvements, and implementation of category strategies
  • Play an active role in all projects to achieve design to cost targets
  • Support development and implementation of local category strategies; including priorities, targets and action plans
  • Continuously update and manage sourcing information in SPD (Savings Project Database), ERP, and other company systems according to policies and procedures

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience,
  • Ability to lead negotiations on commercial T&C’s
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet demanding deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
