Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions (SMR) is a leading supplier in equipment and tools, services and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. To our Rock Tools division and to our Human Resources department at Patancheru plant (Hyderabad), we are now looking for a Manager - HR to join us

Your Scope:

The role is responsible for driving end-to-end Human Resources and Industrial Relations agenda at the Plant, ensuring harmonious employee relations, statutory compliance, and capability development in alignment with business objectives. The incumbent will play a key role in strengthening industrial harmony, enhancing workforce productivity, and support organizational transformation through digitalization and talent initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent will lead discipline management and industrial relations at the Plant, ensuring fair, transparent, and consistent handling of disciplinary matters, domestic enquiries, and grievance resolution. The role requires maintaining constructive union relations through continuous engagement, negotiations, and proactive conflict prevention, while aligning with long-term business interests.

The position will drive contract labour (CL) strategy including planning, optimization, and compliance of flexible manpower to ensure cost efficiency and operational agility. It will also oversee implementation of new labour codes and ensure adherence to all statutory requirements, liaising with government authorities and managing inspections, audits, and legal matters effectively.

A key aspect of the role includes driving structured communication across shopfloor and staff, ensuring clarity, transparency, and engagement. The role will act as a bridge between management and employees, strengthening industrial connect and fostering a positive work culture.

The incumbent will lead HR digitalization initiatives to improve efficiency, data-driven decision making, and employee experience. This includes adoption and governance of HR systems and tools supporting workforce management.

Capability building for shopfloor employees is a critical focus area, with ownership of programs and other structured learning interventions aimed at enhancing skills, productivity, and career progression.

In addition, the role will drive talent management practices including performance management, succession planning, and development interventions to build a strong internal talent pipeline.

The position will also support corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and strengthen the organization’s connect with the external ecosystem including local communities and industry bodies.

Your Profile:

  • Postgraduate in Human Resources / Industrial Relations with 12 years significant experience in manufacturing setup, preferably with exposure to unionized environments and plant HR operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, tools used in data analytics and MIS in MS office.
  • Should be able to speak, write and understand local language.

Required competencies:

  • Strong knowledge on factory, labour laws, EHS standards
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
  • Strong industrial relations and negotiation skills
  • Sound knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance
