We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Manager to join our Finance team.
The Tax Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s tax compliance, reporting, audit, dispute management, transfer pricing, tax advisory, and tax risk management activities. The role ensures that all tax obligations are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with prevailing Indonesian tax regulations, group requirements, and applicable internal control standards.
The Tax Manager will act as the main person in charge for tax-related matters, working closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants, auditors, and tax authorities to ensure proper compliance, effective risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of tax processes across the group entities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tax Compliance and Reporting
Oversee and ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax returns, including SPT Badan, across relevant entities.
Manage compliance with VAT, including PPN and PPNJLN, withholding taxes such as PPh 21, PPh 23, PPh 26, and other applicable tax obligations.
Ensure the completeness and proper administration of withholding tax slips, including Bupot received from customers.
Review and prepare key tax calculations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules as required.
Ensure consistency of tax treatment and compliance practices across entities within the group.
2. Tax Audit and Dispute Management
Lead and manage tax audits across the relevant entities, including preparation of supporting documentation and coordination of audit responses.
Prepare and/or directly handle responses to tax authority letters, including SP2DK, STP, and other tax correspondence.
Liaise professionally with tax authorities and manage queries, data requests, clarifications, and follow-up actions.
Manage tax objections, appeals, and dispute resolution processes when required.
Coordinate with internal departments and external advisors to ensure audit positions are properly supported and documented.
3. Transfer Pricing
Prepare and/or review transfer pricing documentation, including Local File, Master File, and CbCR where applicable.
Ensure compliance with Indonesian transfer pricing regulations and relevant OECD guidelines.
Support intercompany transactions and ensure appropriate alignment across group entities.
Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure transfer pricing positions are properly documented and defensible.
4. Advisory Tax and Risk Management
Provide practical tax advice on business transactions, operational arrangements, contracts, and new initiatives.
Identify tax risks across entities and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the company and group entities.
Support management in making tax-aware business decisions while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
5. Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and other departments across entities to ensure tax matters are properly addressed.
Liaise with external tax consultants, auditors, and professional advisors on tax compliance, audit, advisory, and dispute matters.
Act as the main point of contact for tax-related matters internally and externally.
Communicate tax issues, risks, and updates clearly to relevant stakeholders and management.
6. Process Improvement and Tax Systems
Improve tax processes, controls, and documentation across entities to strengthen compliance and audit readiness.
Support the implementation, usage, and improvement of tax systems, including e-Faktur, e-Bupot, Coretax, and other relevant tax platforms.
Drive standardization, efficiency, and consistency in tax processes across the group.
Maintain proper documentation and working papers to support tax filings, audits, and management reporting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
Professional tax certification such as Brevet A/B/C or equivalent is preferred.
Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and tax audit procedures.
Solid understanding of tax compliance, tax reporting, tax reconciliations, and tax documentation requirements.
Experience dealing with tax audits, SP2DK, STP, tax objections, appeals, and correspondence with tax authorities.
Familiarity with tax systems such as e-Faktur, e-Bupot, Coretax, and related Indonesian tax administration platforms.
Minimum 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in tax, preferably with exposure to multinational companies, tax consulting firms, or group-level tax operations.
Proven experience managing tax compliance and audits across multiple entities is preferred.
Experience in transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transaction review is an advantage.
Experience working with external tax consultants, auditors, advisors, and government tax authorities.
