About the role
We are a seeking a local Fire Suppression Technician to join our team in Pooraka, SA who is able to provide product support and technical services to our customers alongside our Fire Suppression products. This role will also be required to provide estimating, quoting and planning of fleets.
The Fire Suppression Business maintains a firm commitment to the quality objectives for the company and promotes business through exceptional customer service.
As a Fire Suppression Technician, you will be responsible for the installation and servicing of fire suppression systems as well as follow up technical/product support.
Main responsibilities
- Carry out repairs, maintenance and fault diagnostic work on fixed plant and/or mobile equipment as per the appropriate site policies
- Perform Repair and fault finding using hydraulic and/or electrical schematics
- Provide relevant feedback to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity
- Commissioning of new units
- Ensure adherence to Mines Regulation for all work performed
- Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion
- Prepared to work underground
- Record and report all warranty claims as per SMCs warranty policies
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on the progress of claims

- A sound understanding of the mining industry and its business processes

- Ability to take direction and work unsupervised
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Computer literacy
- Excellent Time Management skills
- Good written, reporting and investigation skills
