Production Coordinator – Manufacturing & Assembly (Underground Drilling Equipment)

Currently we have an opening for a Production Coordinator. The Production Coordinator is responsible for organizing, scheduling, and tracking production activities for the manufacturing and assembly of underground drilling and mining vehicles. This role ensures materials, parts, and resources are available on time, production schedules are met, and communication flows effectively between engineering, purchasing, and the shop floor. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, heavy manufacturing environment.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.

  • Monitor, document and revise quality systems and materials as needed.

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement and production leads to sequence builds efficiently.

  • Track work orders and monitor progress to identify and resolve delays or bottlenecks.

  • Adjust schedules and communicate changes promptly to all stakeholders.

  • Open work orders as well as allocate components using relevant software.

  • Work with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of components, kits, and subassemblies.

  • Expedite critical materials or vendor parts as needed to maintain production flow.

  • Coordinate with logistics for parts movement between departments or subcontractors.

  • Serve as the key communication link between production, engineering, purchasing, and quality assurance.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of production status, rework, downtime, and completed builds.

Environmental Health and Safety

  • Complies with Sandvik Mining safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.

  • Responsibility to identify and report any unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and/or near misses. Perform risk assessments (“Take Five”) prior to each task.

  • Maintains hand tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.

  • Maintains orderly work area and ensures housekeeping requirements are met.

  • Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related trainings.

  • Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.

What you will bring along

  • Post-secondary education in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field is an asset.

  • 3–5 years of experience in production coordination, scheduling, or materials control in a manufacturing or assembly environment (heavy equipment experience strongly preferred).

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, Epicor, or similar).

  • Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Planner).

  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and build documentation.

  • Understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical assembly processes.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail.

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing production environment.
