Summary of Position

The Financial Analyst supports the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis by delivering accurate, data-driven insights to support strategic and operational decision-making. This role is responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, performance analysis, and business intelligence using tools such as Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, and other data platforms. The analyst collaborates with stakeholders across finance, operations, and leadership to enhance visibility, accountability, and performance across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial and operational dashboards using Power BI and other analytics tools
  • Extract and analyze data from Microsoft Business Central and related systems to support reporting and decision-making
  • Support the budgeting, demand planning, forecasting, planning cycles, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
  • Conduct variance, trend, and scenario analyses and provide insights to management and operational teams
  • Build and maintain robust financial models to support planning and performance management
  • Partner with operations, sales, and supply chain teams to develop performance metrics and business reports
  • Support month-end and quarter-end reporting cycles with timely and accurate data insights
  • Drive reporting automation and process improvements to enhance data accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist in developing executive-level reports and presentations that communicate financial performance and KPIs
  • Ensure data integrity and adherence to internal controls, governance frameworks, and corporate standards

Required Competencies

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex data clearly
  • High proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and ERP/reporting systems (preferably Microsoft Business Central)
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field. CPA designation or working towards designation is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or business intelligence
  • Proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with DAX, SQL, or related tools.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central preferred)
  • Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or product-based businesses is preferred
  • Working knowledge of GAAP/IFRS accounting standards and internal controls.
