At business area Machining, we’re now looking for an experienced and forward-thinking VP and Head of Communications & Marketing to join us in an exciting position where you’ll lead through both direct and indirect leadership.
Your mission
In this position, you lead a team of skilled professionals, fostering an inspiring environment and setting a clear strategic direction for both short- and long-term goals. The function covers internal and external corporate communications, brand portfolio management, content and channel strategy, change and crisis communication, executive support, and coordination of selected marketing activities. Collaboration is key — you work closely with functions like HR and Strategy, divisional communication teams, and Sandvik Group-level functions. Your strong networking skills and engaging leadership style help build solid relationships and drive results.
You balance a yearly communication plan with timely responses to organizational needs, especially during change and urgent matters. As a member of Machining’s executive management team, you contribute to the business strategy and ensure it is communicated clearly and compellingly. You also lead the Machining Communications, Marketing and Brand Management team and represent Machining in Sandvik’s global communications management team.
This role reports to the President of Machining. Preferred location is Stockholm, Sweden, though other locations may be considered. Global travel is a natural part of your job.

We appreciate your extensive working career within this field, which has given you high confidence in your knowledge. You have a successful history of coaching people in an international setting, as well as working with management teams. You have solid experience of leading communication projects and events, and a profound knowledge of communication planning, strategy, branding and change communication. Experience from other global industrial companies is an advantage. Acting in a global setting, you need excellent English skills, verbally and in writing.
With great business acumen, you easily build trust and utilize your networking skills to establish excellent stakeholder management. You’re curious and humble enough to ask questions to gain a wider comprehension of the complexity and technical details of our operations, to break it down into adequate communication actions. With a strategic and holistic view, you respond timely to business requirements and act on both urgent, short-term and long-term objectives.
