Sales Engineer - Rock Tools

Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology (SMRT) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offer covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

We are seeking a Sales Engineer-Rock Tools based at Head office UB, to join our Sandvik team.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Sales Engineer – Rock Tools provides technical and commercial support to the sales manager to drive the sales of Sandvik Rock Tools (Rotary, DTH and TH). The role is the direct point of contact for national customers and will serve as a technical expert in rotary, down-the-hole and top-hammer drilling applications. He/she will focus on maintaining, developing and extending business relationships on a national level with the goal of expanding the Sandvik Rock Tools business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Taking responsibility and accountability for own behavior, performance and development
  • Communicating clearly and effectively to manager, team-members and other relevant departments.
  • Constantly striving to exceed customers’ expectations and enabling them to excel in their business
  • Being aware of hazards and potential risks and having the ambition to always do the job with safety in mind
  • Assists, prepares and delivers product presentations to prospects & clients
  • Develop sales skills and knowledge of the products, services, and customers by working closely with a more experienced sales representative to promote products, close orders and resolve problems
  • Maintains and updates the core database with details of customer activities including meeting reports, business opportunities, and all other customer interactions
  • Develop understanding of machining & drilling practices and processes utilizing modern tooling systems and how the Sandvik Rock Tools product portfolio meets the market needs and provides solutions
  • Establishes annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met
  • Support sales manager with product testing and related tasks in order to ultimately support additional sales and market share gains
  • Gathers and compiles data, tool testing comparisons, competitive information, and cost comparisons

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of technical or sales experience in the mining industry.
  • General Technical knowledge is required.
  • Previous experience in surface mining / drilling applications, supply chain management and customer relationship management are also highly regarded/.
  • Drill rig operations understanding is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and partners.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office program.
  • Ability to speak and write in both English and Mongolian.
