About the Role:

Based at our Heatherbrae site and reporting to the Head of Finance and Business Control, the Cost Accountant plays an important role in shaping and maintaining standard costing across our manufacturing operations. You'll help analyse efficiencies, understand variances, and support thoughtful decision-making that improves profitability, reduces waste, and strengthens our business.

This role works closely with a supportive management team, where your insights will directly contribute to both operational and financial improvements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain standard costs for manufactured inventory and services using full absorption cost methodology (across all manufacturing entities, including Indonesia).
  • Analyse manufacturing operations, variances, and equipment utilisation to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct scenario modelling to support cost optimisation and strategic decision making.
  • Oversee inventory counts, adjustments, and reporting on slow-moving or obsolete stock.
  • Prepare high-level financial reporting and assist with monthly management accounts.
  • Complete reconciliations of allocated General Ledger accounts.

About You:

You bring strong analytical capability, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset. With tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting - and experience in cost accounting using accounting systems and advances Excel functions.

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting, to a standard satisfying requirement for professional accounting membership
  • Experience in Finance within Manufacturing industry
  • Experience as a Cost Account, Controller, Analyst or similar position
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, such as Microsoft Navision BC
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

Desirable:

  • Experience with business intelligence programs (i.e. Power BI)
  • Extensive experience in development of costing procedures
  • Experience with IFRS
