About the Opportunity
The Remote Monitoring Technician is responsible for keeping customer equipment running efficiently and reliably. The role involves monitoring and analysing machine health data to identify issues early, prevent failures, and improve equipment performance. The technician provides clear technical insights and recommendations to support safe and efficient operations, while working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver timely updates and practical solutions that improve fleet performance.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively monitor data from mining equipment such as underground trucks, loaders, and drills to identify any performance issues or irregularities.
- Analyse telemetry and diagnostic data to detect early signs of component wear, potential failures, or inefficiencies.
- Prioritise and escalate critical alerts to internal teams and customers to ensure timely resolution.
- Support the development of troubleshooting guides and root cause analysis tools.
- Provide clear and professional updates to customers on equipment health and recommended actions.
- Present customer-focused information on the Remote Monitoring Centre (RMC) and related software capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and customers to align with maintenance and operational strategies.
About You
You will bring a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the mining industry, working in either underground or surface operations, supported by a trade qualification in a relevant field (heavy equipment preferred). Experience with Sandvik mining equipment, including underground trucks, loaders, and drills, will be highly regarded. You have a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and are confident interpreting diagnostic codes, performance metrics, and telemetry data.
With familiarity in telemetry systems, OEM diagnostic platforms, and data communication frameworks, you can analyse data to identify root causes and performance trends. You are proficient in digital tools such as monitoring software, MS Office Suite, and reporting platforms, and demonstrate strong communication skills for both customer and internal reporting. Known for your attention to detail and proactive approach, you thrive under pressure and work effectively as part of a team. Your adaptability and eagerness to embrace evolving technologies ensure continuous improvement and operational excellence in a dynamic remote monitoring environment.
