About the Role:

Based in Mackay and reporting to the Site Shift Supervisor, the Underground Operator will join our Ground Consolidation team to deliver essential services in a fast‑paced underground mining environment.

If you’re ready to take your underground skills to the next level, this role puts you hands‑on and right at the heart of production. You’ll install critical ventilation devices, set up standing support, carry out chemical injection work, load materials, and complete roof and rib bolting to keep operations running safely and efficiently. Working with a wide range of equipment - from pumps to mobile plant - you’ll be part of a crew that values safety, teamwork and getting the job done right. Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and apply ventilation devices, standing support systems, and chemical injection products.
  • Operate underground equipment including pumps, loaders, bolters, shuttle cars and QDS implements.
  • Safely load and unload materials.
  • Conduct pre‑start and post‑operational inspections and perform equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain compliance with all underground safety standards, PPE requirements and site reporting processes.
  • Assist with roadway maintenance and support daily and weekly operational plans.
  • Provide clear communication and thorough handovers to ensure smooth shift transitions.

You bring strong underground mining experience, a commitment to safety, and the capability to operate and maintain essential equipment while performing ground support and consolidation tasks in demanding environments.
