Workshop Labourer – Rock Tools and Raisebore

Location: Lively, Ontario

Currently, we have an opening for a Workshop Labourer – Rock Tools and Raisebore. In this role, you are responsible for supporting the service and maintenance of equipment by ensuring proper handling, transportation, and inventory management. This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational efficiency, coordinating logistics, and assisting with servicing tasks to support both customer needs and shop functions.

What you will be doing

Rock Tools Responsibilities:

  • Deliver new bits to customers and retrieve used bits.
  • Coordinate shipments for refurbishment and sharpening.
  • Manage and maintain Rock Tools inventory.

Raisebore Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment servicing, including painting and cutter maintenance.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Utilize hand tools for assembly and maintenance tasks.

General Responsibilities:

  • Handle shipping and receiving of Rock Tools and Raisebore equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed.
  • Support overall shop operations to ensure efficiency and safety.

What you will bring along

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with Sandvik is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a workshop, warehouse, or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience with shipping and receiving is considered an asset.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical servicing.
  • Forklift and overhead crane operation experience (or willingness to obtain certification).
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible and self-motivated with demonstrated initiative.
  • Developed time management and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license.
