At our Underground Drilling division, we are now looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead our journey towards more intelligent drilling automation, digitalized product offering and more sustainable future via electrification. This position offers the unique possibility to set your fingerprint on the technological industry standards and best practices in underground mining. The role is permanent and based in Tampere, Finland.

The Underground Drilling division within Business area Mining is an industry leading global provider of drilling equipment for underground mining and tunneling industry with focus on technology development and future innovative solutions to enable sustainable operations for our customers. Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy’s Tampere site is a global technology and manufacturing center for Underground Drilling equipment.

Your mission

You will be a key driver in our change towards the future of underground drilling. As project manager, you have the overall responsibility of project management in our Product Development projects in various areas that fulfil our long-term strategies. Your work will directly impact Sandvik’s Sustainable journey towards safer work environment in the mining.

Your main responsibilities

Contributing to R&D roadmaps meeting the customer needs, industry trends and division strategies defined together with Product Lines
Executing projects according to our project model
Creating and updating the project plans focusing on work breakdown structure, resource planning and budget to ensure quality outcome at each project phase
Scope control & change management
Managing dependencies, mitigating risks and seeking opportunities
Creating new ways of working and helping to develop best practices for product development
Collaborate and lead across different teams, internally and externally

Your background and what we find important

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative project leader. You have good leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills and you are an active problem-solver. With education you hold a university degree, preferably within the area of technical or business studies. You have experience in managing complex projects with many Stakeholders, a successful track record of delivering on time and have demonstrated good leadership skills while doing this. Previous experience of working within the mining industry is considered beneficial but not mandatory. As we operate in an international business fluent English is required. Some travel days are expected in this position.
