Our advanced equipment – such as Bolter Miners, Roadheaders, Continuous Miners, and Borer Miners – delivers fast, efficient excavation in both soft and hard rock. Your mission
As President of the Mechanical Cutting division, you take overall responsibility for creating, planning, implementing, and integrating our strategic direction and business performance. You’re an inspiring leader with line responsibility for our 1,100 employees across Austria, China, India, and South Africa. Your mission is to advance our market-leading position and ensure we’re fit for the future.

You report to the President of Sandvik Mining and are a valued member of the Business Area Management team, leading our high-performing organization towards the future.

Job responsibilities

  • Shape, plan, and implement the strategic direction of the division.

  • Drive global P&L performance across sales and manufacturing.

  • Translate customer needs into actionable strategies that strengthen our value proposition.

  • Develop a sales approach that clearly demonstrates why we’re the customers' first choice.

  • Enhance our offering and market-leading products through focused, forward-looking plans.

  • Identify and develop future leaders while fostering a collaborative, sustainable, and performance-driven culture.

Location and flexibility

This role is based in Zeltweg, Austria, and global travel is a natural and expected part of the job.

Your profile
You have a background in general management from global environments where you’ve been accountable for profit and loss. You’re confident navigating B2B sales and business development across different markets, and you know how to convert customer insights into clear priorities and execution plans.

  • Experience leading complex, international organizations.

  • Strong record of delivering business results and strategic execution.

  • High cultural awareness and ability to thrive in a global setting.

  • Advanced verbal and written English skills; familiarity with German is advantageous.

  • A background in mining or construction is an advantage.

You lead with confidence, clarity, and courage. Building trust comes naturally to you, and you develop our business and the people around you through empowering, influential, and credible leadership. You value collaboration, challenge perspectives, and keep communication precise. You also balance entrepreneurial thinking with disciplined execution to ensure sustainable, long-term success.
