RockTools Attendant

The Role:

The purpose of this role is to maintain and extend the life of GET equipment according to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and standards to ensure an effective performance contract through:

  • Machine availability through effective bits redress, stock level monitoring and correct adherence to rock tool issuance procedure.
  • Effective customer relations
  • Safety, health, and environmental effectiveness

Key Performance Areas:

  • Accuracy of record entries bit sharpening standard and issuance procedure (old for new exchange bases.)
  • Follow set rock tools budgets and do daily stock counts, report under stocked items to the supervisor to avoid stock outs and production delays.
  • Inspect conditions of products for re-use or to discard.
  • Report product failures.
  • Comply to customer standards and procedures.

Your Profile:

  • National Certificate in any tertiary education
  • 3-5 years’ experience in button bit sharpening
  • Proven underground working experience within the underground mining sectors
  • Able to read and write
  • Physical and medical ability to function in a mining environment.
