Technical Advisor, UG Drills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of all personnel
  • Wear PPE as required or identified in selected workplaces
  • Comply with Safe Work standards, procedures and instructions and monitor fellow personnel on their follow up and implementations
  • Adhere to company and client environmental and safety policies and procedures
  • Strict adherence to company rules and customer regulations
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance work and ensure 100% compliance with all Job Plans
  • Follow safety instructions related to maintenance work
  • Carry out maintenance, inspection of equipment breakdowns in accordance with the maintenance manual
  • Identify the cause of the technical failure and provide information on future work
  • Accurate collection of required Condition Monitoring and meter-based readings
  • Accurate documentation of technical error codes and information on all parts used
  • Accurate completion of daily time sheets
  • Keep technical personnel advised of any relevant information
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance and care of all company provided specialty tooling or Safety equipment
  • Ensure all tooling used in equipment maintenance are suitably maintained and checked for safe operation as required
  • Manage a support team to provide first class post-sales support
  • Research questions using available information & internal resources.
  • Ensure working practices are well defined and operational with minimal disruption using technology to improve efficiency as appropriate
  • Manage the team and individual performance, technical and skills development
  • Encourage open communication between team members, suggesting and driving forward ideas about how the team can work more effectively together.
  • Remain aware of new product developments in the area of network technology providing input and tactical direction to the business on customer service and support challenges.
  • Compile and review of safe work procedures.
  • Evaluate and give suggestion to improve methods, tools and processes. Contribute to sharing of best practice within own area.
  • Support service contract Project Manager where needed.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by direct Manager

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience with Sandvik products an advantage.
  • Have a professional technician license.
  • Maintenance experience in underground mining equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Strong safety management culture.
  • Demonstrated strong customer relationship management.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
