WOLFRAM is a world-leading supplier of high-quality powders based on the metal tungsten. Our products are used to produce high-tech materials in the automotive, aerospace, energy, infrastructure, electronics and mining industries. We obtain the raw materials for our complex production processes from our own mining or by recycling production waste and scrap. Our company is a strategically important part of the global Sandvik Group. We are looking for Leader to join our Chiplun plant location to strengthen our team.
Scope:
The Production Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all production activities at the Chiplun plant. The role ensures reliable input-output control, material efficiency, and continuous improvement of production processes. A key focus of the role is to foster a self-driven, collaborative working culture, especially between production and maintenance, to enhance efficiency, innovation, and effective problem solving across the plant.
Key Performance areas:
Production Planning & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and control daily and mid-term production activities, including production planning and PP modelling
- Ensure stable production flow and achievement of output, efficiency, and delivery targets
- Take responsibility for production input-output performance
Process Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement and process efficiency initiatives within production
- Lead and participate in improvement forums and lean initiatives
- Actively drive projects related to process, product, and operational development
KPI & Performance Management
- Define, monitor, and manage production KPIs and benchmarks
- Analyze performance trends and initiate improvement actions
- Ensure transparent reporting towards plant management
Material Efficiency & Quality Control
- Ensure high material efficiency across all production steps
- Oversee in-process quality control and raise quality deviations
- Collaborate closely with Quality & EHS on deviation handling
Automation & Equipment Interface
- Act as the production interface for automation topics related to production equipment
- Support optimization and development of automated equipment in collaboration with maintenance
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Ways of Working
- Foster a self-driven, accountable, and collaborative working culture within production
- Promote strong day-to-day collaboration with maintenance to optimize manpower utilization
- Enable cross-functional work to increase efficiency and flexibility
- Encourage shared ownership of problems and solutions to support innovation and efficient problem solving
People Leadership & Safety
- Lead and develop the production team
- Ensure safety-first behavior and compliance with EHS, quality, and site rules
- Support a culture of health, well-being, and psychological safety
Your Profile: Qualification and Experience
- 5+ years of Technical or operational background in production, process, or industrial environment
- Experience in a production environment; recycling or process industries are an advantage
- Must have a diploma or degree in a technical subject such as Mechanical / Production / Chemical / Powder Metallurgy
- First leadership experience, such as leading teams, shifts, or smaller production areas, is beneficial
- Experience with production planning, KPIs, and continuous improvement concepts
- Operational understanding: cost control and operational excellence.
