New Product Introduction Manager (NPI)
Underground Drilling Division within business area Mining is an industry leading global provider of drilling equipment for underground mining industry with focus on technology development and future innovative solutions to enable sustainable operations for our customers. Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy’s Tampere site is a global technology and manufacturing center for Underground Drilling equipment.
We are now looking for New Product Introduction Manager (NPI) to join our Underground Drilling Division Supply team. This is a permanent position based in Myllypuro Tampere, Finland.
Your role
As NPI Manager, you will lead the industrialization of new products, ensuring a smooth transition from prototype assembly to serial production. You have the overall responsibility of manufacturing operations of prototypes and ramp up products in our own production facilities. Your mission is to ensure capable, flexible and productive manufacturing operations that meet our internal and external customer requirements. You ensure all supply-related tasks are completed on time and with high quality in our projects. You drive safety development culture and knowledge transfer of new products from your organization to serial production. You also ensure competence development to meet future needs in your organization.
You will lead a competent and versatile NPI team consisting of supervisors, NPI engineers and a prototype purchaser. One of the key responsibilities in your role, together with your team, is to further develop the NPI processes. You will also be a key member of the Supply management team, contributing to strategic planning and operational excellence.
Your Profile
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on leader with a strong background and comprehensive experience in complex manufacturing operations. You have strong leadership and co-operation skills with cross-functional teams. We value your drive and personality as a goal-oriented leader who builds trust easily, motivates teams, and navigates dynamic business environments with clarity and vision. Your ability to balance short-term actions with long-term strategy makes you a valuable asset to our team.
You have a suitable education in Engineering (B.Sc. or M.Sc.). Project management experience within a New Product Development (NPD) and/or New Product Introduction (NPI) environment is seen as an advantage. Experience and knowledge of Production planning, Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes will be beneficial to you in order to perform successfully in this role. Fluent Finnish and English language skills are mandatory.
