IT & Desarrollo de Software

Production IT Technician

Are you passionate about IT and eager to work closely with production while being part of a global environment? This is your chance to take on a role where you ensure operational stability and reliability of critical IT and OT systems in a dynamic manufacturing setting. You’ll have the opportunity to combine hands-on technical work with strategic contributions, making a real impact on both local and global operations.

About the job

In this role, you’re responsible for ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of IT and production-related systems. You provide technical support and advanced troubleshooting in production environments, install and configure hardware and software, and manage backup routines and system recovery. Maintaining accurate documentation and actively contributing to system integration and improvement projects is part of your job. Additionally, you support infrastructure activities such as network, servers, and databases, and participate in IT planning and lifecycle management.

Located in Fagersta, you work on-site and collaborate closely with production engineers, system owners, and IT stakeholders. You’re part of the Country IT Team Scandinavia, supporting Seco Tools locally while connecting to Sandvik’s global network.

Your profile

You have a technical foundation in IT, whether through education or equivalent experience, combined with a few years of IT support in a production environment. You understand both IT and OT and have basic knowledge of networking basics (DNS, DHCP, firewalls). You’re experienced with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, and MS SQL. Acting in a global environment calls for fluency in Swedish and English.

Success in this role comes from being structured and solution-oriented, with the ability to translate technical language for non-technical colleagues. You’re social, service-minded, and confident in building relationships across production and management teams. Independence and a long-term perspective are key, as you balance daily operations with strategic improvements.

Our culture

Our role is clear – through every action, every day, we make the shift and advance the world through engineering. We believe in an inclusive, equal and open-minded culture, and we nurture our diversities to form a solid foundation for achieving great results. Add fair and rewarding benefits, as well as many different career options. Are you intrigued? Visit our website, LinkedIn or Facebook page to get to know us further.
